The Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks an adjunct instructor to teach JOUR 321: Visual Journalism in Fall 2021.
JOUR 321: Visual Journalism is an undergraduate entry level course in visual storytelling.
This is a part-time, in-person position based in Los Angeles.
Applicants should have a minimum of five years professional experience working as a visual journalist. Candidates should be skilled in reporting, writing, shooting and editing video for non-broadcast platforms, basic principles of photography and design for news stories and best practices for journalists on social media. A strong candidate demonstrates a thoughtful understanding of current issues in the industry, including equity and inclusion in journalism. Prior teaching experience is a plus.
