The College seeks candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues and community members. The successful candidate is responsible for the development, leadership, and administration of the men’s lacrosse program. Responsibilities will include the recruitment and retention of highly qualified student-athletes, scheduling, purchasing of equipment, inventories, making all travel and lodging arrangements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of involvement in the personal, academic development and health and welfare of student-athletes; support the offices of Institutional Advancement, Alumni Engagement and Parent Relations with fundraising efforts and alumni activities; work cooperatively with department offices, including athletic communications, athletic training and equipment room staffs in regard to public relations efforts, practice coordination, health and safety of student-athletes and team uniform/equipment needs.
This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and may include secondary responsibilities dependent upon the successful candidate’s credentials and expertise.
Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
Successful coaching and/or teaching experience.
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills required.
Experience at the intercollegiate level as a coach and administrator preferred.
Driver’s license with two or less points.
This position involves both inside sedentary work, outside work on different fields and in other fitness environments while coaching and training student-athletes. Evening and weekend hours in all types of weather, with travel is necessary. Lifting required (i.e., set-up of equipment, etc.) and some manual labor is expected. Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
