The purpose of this position is provide support to the International Education Office’s marketing and recruiting efforts and to provide services to international students. The person in this position will recruit and engage with prospective students through social media and other means of communication. The International Specialist should possess creativity and outreach skills, and should be able to effectively communicate and interact with students from various cultures.
This position’s salary starts out at $44,366.
Respond to initial inquiries from international students overseas and within the U.S. and engage with them on international social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, WhatsApp, and Zalo
Assist with marketing and recruiting activities to attract international students to Sinclair Community College
Assist with the admissions process for F-1 visa students
Assist international students with housing and other essential services such as insurance, banking and transportation
Serve as a campus resource to international students and assist them with referrals to on-campus resources. When requested, write letters as needed for various purposes for international students.
Provide orientation for F-1 visa students and develop an on-line orientation program for F-1 visa students
Provide back-up support with the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Relations, International Studies, or related field required
Minimum of 1 year work experience in international recruitment, admissions, marketing, counseling, or related field required; prior work experience in Social Media Marketing preferred
Minimum of 1 year work experience in event planning and presentation skills required
Prior experience with using a CRM is preferred
Current working knowledge of social media platforms required
Prior work experience and knowledge of international student enrollment regulations, processes and procedures preferred
Effective cross cultural communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills required
Positive attitude and a strong desire to assist people from different cultures required
Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, exercises initiative and judgment, and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority required
Ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously while providing great attention to detail and meeting all prescribed deadlines required
Ability to work with a cross-cultural diverse student population
Ability to speak a second language is preferred but not required
United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident status to meet federal requirements for professional practice as a Designated School Official of the Immigration Service of the Department of State required
Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office with ability to learn related databases or software used relative to this position required
