Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, duties for the Head Baseball Coach will consist of managing and coaching the baseball program including, but not limited to: recruiting athletes, public relations, fundraising and other responsibilities within the boundaries of the rules and regulations of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, the National Junior College Athletic Association and Dodge City Community College.

Knowledge of baseball to lead and develop the baseball program.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Plan and execute daily practice plans
Schedule all games and scrimmages.
Knowledge and ability to recruit student athletes in accordance with NJCAA, KJCAA and College regulations and guidelines.
Obtain transportation and lodging for games and scrimmages.
Purchase, track, and upkeep all equipment inventory.
Prepare and maintain baseball budget.
Supervise staff of assistant coaches and work-study students.
Coordinate baseball fundraising events through Athletic Director approval.
Maintain scholarship limitations amounts with student-athletes.
Establish and maintain off-season program for players according to all NJCAA and KJCCC guidelines.
Knowledge of resistance and weight training principles, techniques, facilities and equipment.
Promote the baseball program through involvement within the community and Alumni Booster Association.
Assist the department with all assigned duties and solicit items for the Foundation Auction.
Attend all Athletic Department meetings and other College committees as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Prior collegiate coaching and recruiting experience in the sport.
Knowledge of NJCAA and KJCCC rules and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to monitor academic progress of student athletes.
Ability to work with staff members and baseball team members.
Proven ability to work with diverse populations including traditional and non-traditional students.
Valid Kansas driver’s license.
College Head Coaching Experience.
Assistant Baseball Coach
Physical Requirements: With or without assistance
Ability to bend, stoop, jump, kneel stand, walk and be on your feet for 3 hours a day to demonstrate sport.
Operate a motor vehicle and be able to drive to games and back.
Ability to carry equipment needed to and from practice and games.
Ability to ambulate and navigate stairs and ramps throughout the campus complex.
