St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting résumés for the 12-month full-time position of Director of Athletic Communications. Responsibilities include overseeing all phases of the Sports Information department. Sports Information responsibilities include public relations, publications, game operations, website management, media relations, record keeping and statistics. Game day duties include oversight of the official scorer’s table, securing event support workers, supervising webcasting of appropriate events, updating all statistics, and preparing post game releases. Roster management and varsity athletic schedule maintenance will also be key duties. Oversight of social media accounts; producing video highlights of games and postgame video interviews.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required and knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and regulations. Ability to work nights, weekends, and to travel is required. Three to five years’ experience in a related field preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to lift approximately 30 pounds. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
