The Regulatory Affairs Specialist- Operations Compliance will be an active member of the Regulatory Affairs group within the Legal Department. The Specialist is responsible for executing all aspects of the beer, wine and spirits regulatory compliance audit programs. Audit responsibilities extend to the oversight of compliance with Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) recordkeeping and operational reporting requirements and federal and state excise tax payments. The Specialist is also responsible for assisting the government recordkeeping teams with matter resolution and training personnel on regulatory compliance topics.
Support beer, wine and spirits, âTotal Beverage Alcoholâ (TBA) Regulatory Compliance Program with a focus on internal controls, process efficiency and standardization, and product integrity.
Plans audits of internal alcohol beverage regulatory controls and compliance, completes all preparatory desk work and performs onsite audit engagements.
Facilitates the execution of audit remediation activities (corrective/preventative controls) resulting from audits.
Ensures the systemic archival of internal records and supporting documentation for easy access by regulatory personnel in the event of an external agency audit.
Helps identify audit trends and regulatory compliance risks and communicate recommendations to management.Â
Assists in the development of new internal audit programs focusing on areas of risk and to support evolving business operations,
Ensure TTB government recordkeeping controls are in place and adequately support the scope of operations.Â
Review and reconcile TTB Report of Operations and federal and state excise tax returns to ensure all reports and tax returns are filed accurately and timely.
Ensure TTB physical inventories are conducted when required on an annual, quarterly or monthly basis and inventory records are prepared in compliance with the regulations.
Support the development of regulatory compliance policies, procedures and manuals.
Assist facility personnel with resolving matters related to operational reporting, recordkeeping and claims processing.
Serve as the liaison between the facility government records teams and regulatory agencies, and supports onsite external audits as requested.
Support the development and delivery of training materials and presentations.
Build and maintain relationships that motivates, guides and reinforces compliance.

Bachelorâs degree or other experience/ education in a related business function.
A minimum of 2-3 years experience in a regulated industry, highly preferred alcohol beverage industry experience.
Previous audit experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to build relationships.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of matters.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Must be highly detailed-oriented, have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload to ensure all client needs are met.
Local travel by automobile 30-40% with intermittent overnight stays and periodic air travel.
Must have a valid driverâs license and be able to drive a car and travel by plane/train as needed.
