Senior Communications Specialist / Digital Content & Engagement
We're seeking an experienced social media manager to join Vanderbilt University Medical Center's award-winning social media and content marketing team.
This specialist will manage Vanderbilt University Medical Center's robust social media program. S/he will develop and implement social media and content marketing strategies to support brand and marketing objectives for consumer and physician audiences and, though consultation and training, support others at VUMC to use social media effectively.
Experience in healthcare (especially an academic medical center) is a plus. A collegial team spirit and documented success in a collaborative work environment is a must.
Specific responsibilities include:
Create, curate and publish content that supports VUMC's identified marketing/brand objectives.
Manage an editorial calendar of original and curated content published across multiple social media platforms up to 7 days/week.
Serve as a collaborative resource for the department about social media strategy, trends and best practice.
Oversee, participate in and ensure day-to-day moderation of social media channels, including management of an "on-call" schedule.
Ensure that VUMC brand social media channels are current and in keeping with best practice, including profile descriptions, cover images and other assets.
Suggest, develop and implement approved special social media projects and campaigns, e.g., piloting of new platforms, techniques and initiatives.
Manage budget for boosting of organic posts and experimental paid social media activity.
Monitor and report progress against strategic goals and established objectives for the social media program overall and for specific social media activity as part of marketing initiatives and campaigns.
Become a "power user/trainer" of social media monitoring, publishing and analytic/reporting technology
Develop and conduct training for faculty and staff about the social media policy and effective ways to participate in VUMC social media.
Consult with faculty and staff who request to use social media for their departments and clinics as required under the VUMC social media policy.
Keep abreast of best practices and trends and serve as a resource to the marketing department in this fast-moving field.
Oversee and ensure management of social media moderator agreements for faculty and staff who manage social media properties that represent VUMC.
Bachelor's in communications, marketing, public relations or related field.
3 years of experience
Experience with social media channels and management tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Hootsuite, etc.)
Experience in healthcare (especially academic medicine) is preferred
