Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing, the Executive Communications Manager is responsible for all aspects of presidential and some additional executive-level communications on university-related matters for both internal and external audiences.
5 years of experience writing executive-level messaging, such as speeches, briefings, editorials and/or positioning documents.
Experience managing executive-level communications, or writing on behalf of an executive for a variety of internal and external purposes.
Experience tailoring content to a variety of outputs, and audiences.
Experience writing content for distribution to public audiences either through news media, organizational channels, or online channels.
Experience managing multiple projects in a complex organization.
Experience meeting tight deadlines.
Experience working in a complex organization.
Experience editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation.
Bachelors degree in journalism, communication, public relations, English, or a communications-related field .
Experience working in higher education or a complex public organization.
Experience implementing communications strategy to support organizational growth and/or change.
Experience in issues management and crisis communications.
Experience developing and implementing strategies to communicate complex issues to a large organization.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others on projects and strategy to great effectiveness.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to analyze situations.
Demonstrated ability to utilize good judgement to communicate effectively.
