Works closely with Mansueto staff to write and manage website content and design, social media, email and newsletter content, and other internal and external communications.
Writes or collaborates on briefings, presentations, web content and op-eds or other pieces for external media.
Writes or collaborates on annual reviews and/or donor-specific communications.
Writes or collaborates on press releases and other media pieces highlighting new, peer-reviewed research in academic journals by Mansueto faculty and affiliates.
Determines, researches, verifies, writes and edits publications, which often includes technical/scientific material for manuals or journals.
Uses broad knowledge of writing to write in-depth pieces relating to specialized field (e.g. scientific writing).
Designs and plans communications strategies.
Performs other related work as needed.
Experience:Â Â Â Â
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in relevant journalism, communications, public relations, higher education, or related roles.
Background in writing and managing communications in a complex environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence people to meet goals and deadlines, work collaboratively with senior leadership, consultants, colleagues, and other constituents.
Accomplished in writing about quantitative and scientific subjects or writing for a non-academic audience about academic research.
Skillful in managingÂ production of marketing and communication materials.
Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
Act as a liaison between the Mansueto Institute and various external agencies, organizations, and institutions with whom they collaborate.
Work effectively across the University â“ including with faculty and staff across the divisions, schools, and units.
Demonstrated skill and willingness to take initiative and to proactively anticipate organizational needs.
Exceptional time and project management and organizational skills including the ability to meet external and internal deadlines.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as social media and web tools.
Service oriented with an accompanying sense of humor.
