The Communications Manager develops, manages, and integrates all aspects of the Admissions communications function including print and digital communications, social media, multimedia operations, marketing collateral, brand strategy, internal messaging, and other creative efforts to engage diverse and highly qualified prospective students for the Brown School’s social work, public health and social policy master's degree programs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communications Planning and Brand Management:
Work collaboratively with the Brown School communications department and admissions team members to develop cohesive communications strategies and initiatives designed to enhance the recruitment and yield of prospective students and elevate the Brown School brand. Interface with internal and external stakeholders to advance the institutional mission and objectives of the Brown School. Explore trends in enrollment marketing and student recruitment and share knowledge with team members to expand capacity for strategic planning.
Communications Implementation and Evaluation:
Lead the implementation, management, and evaluation of communications efforts. Direct project management for enrollment marketing initiatives to include developing creative content, project timelines and production schedules; managing and developing admissions web and email marketing content; creating materials and marketing logistics for campus tours, visits and recruitment events (virtual and in-person); spearheading social media and digital marketing strategies (retargeting, advertising, etc.); developing new multimedia recruitment opportunities; organizing and facilitating focus groups and other measures to assess campaign success and direct future strategies; and cultivating new opportunities to highlight the stories and competitive advantages of the Brown School. Collaborate with school and campus partners to facilitate consistent and seamless messaging to prospective and incoming students.
Systems and Process Management:
Develop policies and protocol to ensure effective resource management related to communications and marketing. Provide leadership and training to team members for adherence to institutional style guide standards and consistent brand messaging. Work closely with the director, academic affairs units, and program faculty and staff to coordinate and provide regular evaluation for application and admissions procedures, admissions criteria and review process, scholarship allocation strategy, enrollment management and retention strategies, and special programs administration. Manage systems and software utilized in marketing and communications efforts, and utilize analytics to measure, analyze and optimize ROI on these efforts.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience with three to five years of recruitment or communications and marketing experience.�
Experience with email marketing products, content management systems (CMS), and customer/constituent relationship management (CRM) software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign.
Degree in communications, marketing, business, social work or public health.
At least five years of recruitment, communications and/or marketing experience, with at least one year in a higher education setting.
Commitment to the values of social work and social justice, social policy, public health and health policy.
Current in industry and enrollment marketing trends; willingness to pursue ongoing professional development.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills and decision-making abilities.
Flexible and adaptable; able to shift tactics and strategies as needed to accommodate program and policy changes.

The hiring range for this position is $48,087 - $62,517 annually.
