The Student Communication Coordinator will help to manage, develop, and plan the messaging sent to students by coordinating and collaborating with other DCE departments and utilizing technology to optimize the experience for both students and staff.
The Student Communications Coordinator reports to the Director of Enrollment and Retention, and falls under the Office of Enrollment Management department. This person will work with all departments that serve students across the Division of Continuing Education (DCE). They will play a crucial role in helping to articulate each student type's journey through the management of all related communications. The Coordinator will work with multiple stakeholders to consistently plan, design and develop content to ensure the brand, mission, and image of DCE are maintained.
The Coordinator implements and supports a student communication strategy that creates a coherent and tailored approach for the diverse student body DCE serves. By measuring the effectiveness of student communication messages and channels on an ongoing basis and through learning from student feedback, this individual will make suggestions for improvements and amendments to the overall strategy as appropriate. This information will need to be disseminated to all the stakeholders and the individual will document, promote, and train partners/clients on policies and best practices. This position will research best practices on message, use of language, and effective modalities. The Coordinator will develop common taxonomies and vocabularies to be shared across departments and channels. As a result, the Coordinator will need to stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technology, and media channel.
This position will partner with various departments including Marketing and MIS on developing the technology needed to communicate with students, and will also optimize available communication channels and suggest new methods of communication including email, text, chat, and web.
