The Director of Corporate Communications is a newly created position at the firm and is responsible for leading the firm's internal and external communications. This role requires an experienced communications professional with extensive expertise in structuring and executing effective integrated communications programs that align with business priorities. This individual will work collaboratively with senior executives and business leaders. We seek a leader who has experience in establishing a communications function and can build out and lead a small team operating as a player/coach. This is a global leadership position and the role can be located in either London or Boston. This position reports to the global Head of Marketing and Communications and will partner closely with our Director of Human Resources.
Key responsibilities include:
Executive and Senior Management Communications: collaborate with the Office of the CEO, Managing Partners and senior leaders on firm-wide internal and external communications; serve as a strategic thought partner on topics, key messages, format, delivery and cadence; author/edit communications as needed
Employee Engagement: Develop strategies and implement effective communications programs that enhance employee engagement, with a specific focus on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts; serve as business owner for intranet; evolve programs introducing more innovative approaches that leverage multimedia and technology
Reputation Management and Public Relations: lead firm's PR program globally including PR strategy, agency management of PR partners; develop and maintain relationships with key journalists in London and the US
Internal programs and events: coordinate and manage company-wide programs and events for employees, partners, managing directors, and withdrawn partners
Candidate engagement: Partner with HR on communications strategy for recruiting materials and communications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
An experienced communications professional who can tackle a broad range of assignments including internal communications, DEI, strategic initiatives, reputation management, and senior executive media interviews
Familiarity with financial services and/or asset management industry
Proven ability to counsel and exhibit credibility with senior management on communications issues.
Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation skills.
Strong collaborator and influencer - ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and quickly build relationships needed to accomplish program objectives.
Proven problem solver, solution provider, and project manager with ability to analyze and deftly navigate various situations with reputational consequences.
Global mindset; experience in working across borders (particularly in continental Europe and with colleagues in the U.S. and Asia), time zones and cultures
Strong network and relationships with the media
Sound judgement on media, reputation, messaging and stakeholder engagement - the ability to assess subjective criteria and make sound judgements
Well organized, high energy/self-starter with the ability to work independently and to navigate a large, complex global organization
