Location: 401 N. Michigan Avenue Job Description: - Responsible for defining, developing, directing, and evaluating the overall vision of the Booth Advancement teamâ™s marketing and communications strategy.
- Develops and consistently evaluates a sustainable and proactive communications strategy and activation plan for each of Booth Advancementâ™s seven primary partners (Alumni Relations, Annual Fund, Donor Relations, Events, Global Advancement, Leadership Engagement and Initiatives, and Principal and Major Gifts).
- Manages a team of professional marketing and communication staff responsible for marketing of events, programs, and special initiatives primarily within Booth Advancement, and also select projects within Booth and the broader University.
- Oversees teams original content development, email communication strategies and deployment, social media strategies, and leadership communication along with web strategies and maintenance.
- Leads the development, execution, and evaluation of Boothâ™s campaign communications plan.
- Collaborates regularly and intentionally, and serves as the primary point of contact with Booth Marketing, University ARD Communications, University Communications, and other Booth and University partners.
- Consistently evaluates the overall and individual team marketing and communication strategies to ensure they remain aligned with both annual and long-term goals.
- Plans, develops, designs and implements strategic and tactical marketing plans for a department or program. Directs, monitors and evaluates marketing communication and research programs.
- May develop departmental priorities, allocates resources, and determines project direction in line with established priorities.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Education: - Bachelorâ™s degree in communications, marketing, or business.
Experience: - Minimum eight years of progressive growth and direct experience in a marketing/communications position in higher education or Booth Advancement.
- Proven experience developing, leading, and motivating a team.
- Demonstrated experience working with both internal and external partners.
- Working knowledge in a campaign, managing campaign communications and strategy.
- Background working in, or strong knowledge of, CRM, CFP, and email marketing platforms.
Preferred Competencies - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, highly collaborative environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills, characterized by the ability to listen, speak, and write well, with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Self-motivated and work well with and through others.
- Manage confidential information with discretion and tact.
