RESEARCH COMMUNITY AND COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR , Mechanical Engineering , to design and implement the external and internal communications for the BRIDGE-Train project at MIT and support the establishment of the Lean Research community of practice (CoP). Responsibilities will include developing and implementing the communications plan for a $15 million, five-year project; engaging with the communications teams at USAID, collaborator institutions, and MIT; developing and implementing a plan for research uptake and translation by policy and practitioner audiences; developing and implementing a plan to support an active Lean Research CoP, including curating content from members, developing content for newsletters or mailings, managing the contacts list, managing social media presence, and planning and executing events; generating content for press releases, website, social media, newsletters, etc.; coordinating with vendors to develop and maintain web, communications, and collaboration platforms; providing technical writing and copy-editing support on publications; and completing and ensuring adherence to the USAID branding and marking plan and MIT requirements.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in communications or relevant field; three years of project-level communications experience, including creating press releases, web materials, marketing videos, print media, graphic design, newsletters, and social media; experience managing a professional CoP; ability to write clearly, succinctly, and effectively in English. PREFERRED : experience communicating academic work to non-technical audiences; research uptake and research translation experience; experience in international development, public policy, and/or the technical area of focus of the project; and at least two years of experience facilitating CoPs. This is a five-year term position.
Funding for this project has not been awarded. If the team is successful in the proposal process, the award will likely be made in April 2021. An offer will be dependent on receiving the award.
