The Faculty of Arts and Science is seeking a talented Associate Director to lead communications efforts for the Office of the Dean. The Associate Director of Communications will lead all FAS strategic communications efforts by writing content that communicates and disseminates leadership’s messaging to FAS internal and external audiences. Along with communicating important policy information, the Associate Director will identify, develop and publicize FAS stories, showcasing the work of faculty and and broader FAS community to be used for newsletters, the website, social media, and other platforms. The Associate Director is expected to be a proactive member of FAS with a multitude of communications ready to quickly be disseminated; he or she will manage all communications being sent under the broader Office of the Dean to ensure continuity and quality of messaging.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in communications, journalism, creative writing, or related discipline.

Required Experience:
5+ years of related communications experience, including media relations, journalism, or corporate/institutional communications.

Preferred Experience:
Experience working in public relations or higher education fields.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to write quickly, concisely, and accurately; excellent capacity in working with and coordinating projects among diverse teams across units, schools, and campuses; and ability to work well in a matrixed management structure.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with HTML, CSS, After Effects or Motion.
