This individual contributes to the development of and leads the day-to-day execution of change management plans associated with the Workday Student implementation, a complex multi-year initiative to replace the university’s core student information systems with Workday Student. Primary areas of focus include oversight and management of stakeholder engagement of all types, as well defining, assessing, and ensuring university-level; school-unit-level, and individual-level readiness, and supervising a range of change management professionals. This position plays a lead role in developing, managing and implementing plans to create awareness, understanding, engagement, acceptance and adoption of the new system.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the change director, change management consultants, and other members of the Workday Student project team, develop change management plans and recommend resources to ensure effective implementation.
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Determine readiness definition and measures.
Ensure change plans support agreed upon measures.
Assist with stakeholder identification and outreach.
Change network strategy and design.
Perform readiness activities and assessments.
Assist with resistance management.
Assist with communications planning, and training program development.
The complexity of the project with multiple systems, significant amount of data and the number of impacted departments, schools and processes requires previous technical Workday knowledge and experience
As part of planning work, determine staffing needs and define the roles and responsibilities for change project team; Contribute to budget planning process.
Implement change management plans in order to achieve desired readiness metrics. Activities include, but are not limited to:
Working with project managers, ensure that plans are integrated with and aligned with the overall project plan and appropriate resources are assigned and project people readiness milestones are achieved.
Lead and supervise the work of the change specialists/analysts with SMEs and functional experts to identify, document and analyze detailed current and future state information about process and system design changes (e.g. process, policy, technical, etc.).
Understand the significance of identified changes, including intended or unintended impacts on individuals, schools and units, and/or the university overall. Use this information to design readiness, communications, and training activities and assessments.
Monitor the implementation of change management to ensure the disruption of normal business operations is minimized.
Act as a change agent to implement and manage best practices.
Ensure collaboration and coordination across functional workstreams.
Contribute to and support communications and training efforts as needed.
Oversee efforts to assess readiness and use insights to evaluate and adjust change management plans to achieve identified readiness metrics.
Identify and elevate risks and other issues that may impact success.
Work with project directors, project managers, project leads and others to identify and mitigate risks associated with the project.
Develop project health reports based on established change metrics to project teams and stakeholders
Present/report out progress to stakeholder groups, as needed.
Possess knowledge of business processes and identify the impact changes will have on communications, training, etc. and change management planning.
Coaching & Counsel:
Coach change analysts, stakeholders, managers, project teams, SMEs, program leaders, executives and others as identified to ensure they effectively support desired changes.

Bachelor’s degree with seven years of relevant change management experience. Experience includes managing change management activities and/or teams in technology project environments or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant experience includes Workday implementations or providing direction and leadership to a change management team.
Master’s degree with more than five years of experience in executing change management initiatives in large, complex environments.
Certification or training in one or more change management methodologies.
Experience in direct management of people and teams.
Experience with Workday implementations in a higher education environment.
Creative and strategic thinker who possesses a confident style, coupled with sensitivity,
flexibility, and sense of humor.
Good judgment, discretion, tact and diplomacy skills.
Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative and consensus-driven environment.
