Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Coach- Diving for Rutgers Athletics. Under the direct supervision of the Head Swimming Coach, oversee and direct the Women’s Diving program which provides an opportunity for student-athletes to train and compete on a competitive, Division I women’s diving program while attending school to earn a college degree.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Recruits high level academically and athletically skilled female students to attend Rutgers and to earn a degree and to compete in the women's diving program.
Schedules, organizes and conducts practices at a high level of efficiency and success.
Collaborates with the Head Swimming Coach in scheduling competition for the team.
Develops, teaches, and instructs the student-athletes in the proper rules of play, conditioning, skills and techniques on the deck and in life-skills and leadership qualities on and off the deck.
Assists in fundraising and public relations events that support the objectives of the program and allow for program enhancements.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA regulations relative to proper rules of competition in the sport of diving.
Knowledge of Big Ten and NCAA rules and regulations.
Possess good organizational, communication and public relations skills.
Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
Coaching experience at the intercollegiate level.
Ability to use a computer, email, editing equipment and recruiting database software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Travel is involved.
