Reporting:

The Chief Communications Officer (CCO) reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Parsons Corporation.

Role:

The CCO reports to the CEO and will lead marketing, branding, events, media engagement, and public and community relations. The role drives the Corporation’s brand and image, manages all internal and external communication of the company, and represents the company to the outside world.  The ideal candidate has the ability to communicate a message and manage the company’s relationships with the public.

Responsibilities:

The CCO has the following responsibilities:

• Leads the corporation’s marketing strategy
• Builds the corporate brand and image
• Leads external and internal communications
• Drives digital communications including social media engagement and the corporate web site
• Hires, develops, and retains best-in-class talent
• Maintains strong internal partnerships with executive leadership team colleagues and key stakeholders
• Participates as a co-chair of the crisis management team
• Establishes a business rhythm with key external stakeholders (e.g., television, journals, blogs, social media, etc.) that influence our markets
• Arranges media events and leads media relations
• Coordinates key industry association events in which Parsons is a participant (e.g., INSA, USGIF, PSC, NDIA, AIA)
• Supports investor relations in investor days and earnings calls
• Can serve as external face of the company as required

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
• Subject matter expert in federal government business, with at least 15+ years of experience

• Executive presence and confidence to engage directly, constructively, and with credibility with internal and external executives
• Strong project management skills: demonstrated ability to lead multiple high-profile projects forward, effectively leverage resources to drive results and establish effective metrics
• Successfully navigate between tactical and strategic objectives
• Strategic thinking: understanding of Parsons’ strategy and ability to succinctly explain it
• Agility: ability to work at a fast pace and shift focus quickly
• Team player that can motivate and influence others to achieve an outcome
