Support the systematic focused proactive identification and engagement of traditional and non-traditional investments (including M&A) and partnerships that are material and / or strategically important to the Group ("Target Opportunities")
Support, as relevant, the assessment and execution of all material and / or strategically important Corporate Transactions (M&A, traditional partnerships, next-gen. partnerships) by working in close collaboration with Group Office functions, BUs, potential business partners and external advisors
Support the overall Corporate Transactions process by engaging and working in partnership with the stakeholders in the relevant Group Office functions, business units (BUs), potential business partners and external advisors:
- Support the collaborative identification, evaluation and review of potential Target Opportunities
- Assist the development of strategic pursuit and engagement plans that optimise AIA's chances to successfully execute the Target Opportunities on attractive, to AIA, commercial outcomes
- Support the development of preliminary business assessments of Target Opportunities, and initial evaluation of compelling partnership and business propositions
- Support the development and review of workshop materials and management presentations
- Support and provide the necessary inputs in relation to Target Opportunities evaluation, strategic pursuit and engagement plans for all internal transaction governance deliverables, including internal meeting materials, initial assessments, update and approval memos for the SIC
- Assist in the preparation and / or review of key relevant transaction documents, including due diligence assessments, management Q&As, information request lists, offer letters, legal documentation, separation & integration assessments, corporate communications and press announcements
- Support the development of critical strategic market assessments on key areas of focus that could accelerate and / or further diversify our growth
- Support the Corporate Transaction team's overall research & development (R&D) efforts to identify new partnership trends, services and products
- Assist other teams across the Group Office and Business Units (BUs), as required, to assess and execute other strategically important projects and growth initiatives in accordance with the above responsibilities
Communication Requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional / disciplinary teams across different geographical markets
- Ability to work with external advisors, including financial advisors, consultants and market research advisors
- Ability to structure and populate compelling business presentations and partnership proposals
Financial and Non-Financial Measures
- Quality of evaluation of Target Opportunities and the corresponding strategic engagement plans that result in optimising AIA's chances to successfully execute the Target Opportunities on attractive, to AIA, commercial outcomes
- Quality of overall execution of the Corporate Transactions process, including speed, accuracy, adaptability and efficiency of the execution, that leads to a successful execution
- Quality of the business assessment and propositions for Target Opportunities, together with the associated management presentations and workshop materials that bring about strategic value add to AIA's overall value proposition to the potential partner
- Quality of working relationships with internal stakeholders across the Group Office functions and BUs and external parties such as third-party advisors and business partners
Job Requirements
- University Graduate with an excellent academic record gained from reputable University
- Prior relevant industry experience in corporate development, corporate strategy, financial services consulting or corporate finance
- Strong work ethic with a positive outlook
- Results-oriented with a proven track record in driving and achieving results
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills Independent and proactive mentality Flexible, able to work in dynamic environment and across culture
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- Sound understanding of insurance related business and financial metrics
- Effective presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and language proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
