The Vascular Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full time, (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift, Clinic Patient Care Coordinator. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for managing our surgeons’ daily schedules and providing our facility with all necessary scheduling information for upcoming sedative procedures. This is a high-volume position, ideal for individuals who are comfortable adapting to change and coordinating details.

The Regional Vascular Center is a fast-paced, multifaceted clinic providing a broad mix of inpatient and outpatient procedures. Our Vascular Surgeons treat conditions ranging from aortic aneurysms, to artery stenting, to varicose veins, and both our clinic and our service offerings are growing. The Patient Care Coordinator will act as the main surgical scheduler for the Regional Vascular Center. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates the delivery of services, including the daily patient flow and access to various health care services
  • Provides support services for both patients and physicians
  • Coordinates patient entry into and through the health care systems
  • Serves as a patient advocate
  • Processing incoming referrals
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Obtaining and verifying demographic and financial information
  • Processing patient paperwork
  • Coordinating care with other services
  • Triaging patient telephone calls to clinical staff
  • Providing information about services

    REQUIREMENTS
  • Two years of experience in a tertiary patient care setting involving interaction with a variety of medical services, contact with patients and families and interaction with physicians
  • Typing: 40 wpm
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Proficiency in medical terminology
  • Time management, multi-tasking, and effective prioritization/organization skills
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.  Ability to compose, edit, and produce written materials accurately and effectively.  Required editing skills include spelling, punctuation, grammar, format, and structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with staff, physicians, patients, and visitors using a professional and courteous manner with excellent public relations, customer service, and diplomacy skills
  • Must be able to move freely about the department and hospital
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform complex assignments independently
  • Ability to be creative, innovative, flexible

    DESIRED
  • Knowledge of Mosaiq IMPAC software system preferred
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a medically related or public relations field is preferred
