Purpose: To create company publications, such as newsletters, for both internal and external dissemination; to develop or promote materials such as brochures, pamphlets and advertisements; to promote services, programs, and products offered by NGEMC through the pre-mentioned publications; to develop news releases and news articles; to develop and direct all advertising for NGEMC; to maintain content of company website. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field of study. Graphic design and marketing experience. Preferred demonstrated ability to use Quark Xpress desk top publishing program, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Web design software. Experience in Website development and maintenance preferred. Job Functions: - Annual Meeting Coordinator: directs the Annual Meeting Committee in all of its activities, completes activities assigned to the marketing group, and monitors the progress of all necessary steps in preparation for the meeting.
- Assists with all publications external and internal created by the Communications Coordinator and can act as a backup for these activities including, but not limited to:
- Media releases
- Newspaper advertisements
- Georgia Magazine newsletters and mailing lists
- Review and editing of external letters for other departments.
- Proofreading and editing as needed.
- Kiosk and lobby slides
- Along with other members of the marketing department, monitors NGEMC’s social Media sites after hours and responds to member and media interactions.
- Gathers and records website and internal communication analytic data for reporting and record-keeping purposes.
- Provides necessary communications support to other departments.
- Monitors area news sources and reports back on topics of interest.
- Administers and optimizes the NGEMC public website administration and optimization to existing and unfolding standards of communication, including new and coming accessibility and LEP standards. Also develops new features and content as needed on a regular basis.
- Administers the Watts-Up page on Socialcast for internal communication purposes and offers training to employees as needed. Generally, evaluates all content published to public areas on the site for compliance with NGEMC’s Corporate Values and Employee Guidelines.
- Updates slideshows with critical information each week to be displayed in outside employee rest areas.
- Photography (new employees/events/other). Also maintains a record of gathered photo releases.
- Orders marketing and promotional materials as needs arise.
- Marketing / Communications file clean up. Includes tagging photos of employees.
- Awareness Campaigns: Drug Free Week; Wear Red; Cancer Awareness.
- Assists with employee appreciation activities.
- : Signs for Office Closures and Holiday announcements
- Films and edits video messages as needed, including required subtitle files for these projects.
