About the Opportunity: Reporting to the Associate Director, Experiential Network, the Manager of Employer Relations will be responsible for shaping, sustaining, and facilitating sponsor partnerships in support and service of the Experiential Network (XN) authentic learning program. The core mission of XN is to provide all of Northeastern's learners with opportunities to incorporate short-term, academically-relevant work experiences into their course of study to reinforce academic theory with practical application and provide real-world experiences. This Manager will focus on assisting academic programs and campuses in meeting student needs by cultivating an increasing pool of company sponsorships to support growing demand for experiential learning at Northeastern University.
Responsibilities: The position is responsible for the following:
Work in collaboration with the XN team and others responsible for experiential partnerships to develop, nurture, and sustain relationships with company partners to facilitate sponsorship of exceptional, best-fit authentic work opportunities for students participating in an array of experiential learning supported by XN projects. The Manager articulates and promotes the unique potential of Northeastern University students and facilitates flexible and adaptable project-based learning experiences with employer sponsors that distinguish Northeastern University's XN program in relation to other institutions.
Draw upon strategic relationships with partner companies, alumni, faculty, institutional partners and colleagues, and external partners through outreach, community engagement, and other means to ensure that authentic projects are current, timely, and incorporate a rich variety of distinctive opportunities for students. This includes managing a portfolio of academic programs whose faculty actively embed XN projects and facilitating the match and support of sponsors and projects to faculty and courses within Northeastern.
Provide monitoring and reporting by tracking sponsor and university interactions using online database(s) such as Salesforce to maintain records in accordance with relevant policies and develop other tracking/measuring resources as needed to support, sustain, and scale the program.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred along with 3-4 years of professional work experience in higher education administration, corporate partnerships, and/or project management. Experience working with diverse constituents and stakeholders (i.e. various employers, disciplines, students, faculty and administration). Work effectively with people of varying cultures and diversity. Experience teaching, advising in career development or experiential learning a plus. Knowledge or experience in STEM-related fields including Data Science, Computer Science, Regulatory Affairs or similar domains a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (including Teams), LinkedIn, Salesforce, database programs and data management and analysis. Excellent skills in relationship building, marketing, public relations, and data base management preferred. This position requires an individual who is goal oriented, possesses excellent communication and presentation skills, is effective in building partnerships, extremely organized, professional and has a high level of customer service.
This position may require some travel per quarter to graduate campuses to support students and cultivate employer sponsorship of authentic experiential learning opportunities.
