As a collaborative team member of VPUE, you have a unique opportunity to advance and support programs that touch and enhance the lives of every undergraduate student at Stanford. https://undergrad.stanford.edu/ The Undergraduate Research team within the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) facilitates student participation in original scholarship and fosters intellectual relationships between students and faculty mentors across all disciplines at Stanford. This small and collaborative team serves as a bridge between Stanford University's educational and research missions by offering consulting, advice, funding, and programming to students, their mentors, and the broader campus community. The Research Communities Manager 1) identifies and solves barriers to equitable access to undergraduate research opportunities, 2) delivers outreach and workshops for departments, research centers, interdisciplinary programs, community centers, and student groups, 3) delivers programming that promotes best practices among research mentors, 4) helps students understand the intellectual and professional pathways enabled by participation in original scholarship, and 5) collaborates with other VPUE staff to advance a broader suite of initiatives that ensure inclusion, access, and equity in educational opportunities. The Research Communities Manager magnifies the impacts of research participation by creating opportunities for student preparation and reflection, and by designing and executing community- and cohort- building programs for students and mentors. The Research Communities Manager reports to the Senior Director of Undergraduate Research and collaborates closely with other members of the Undergraduate Research team, other VPUE teams, and colleagues across the University as needed. About the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) For undergraduates, VPUE is the nexus for programs and initiatives that help students define and achieve their intellectual ambitions at Stanford. These include investigative introductory courses taught by esteemed faculty, targeted classes in writing and rhetoric, undergraduate research support, academic advising and mentoring, overseas and off-campus study programs, and undergraduate scholarships and fellowships. For faculty, VPUE serves as a principal conduit for furthering interaction with undergraduates and discovering ways in which working with students can enrich one's research agenda. VPUE advocates for undergraduate education in collaboration with faculty, departments and schools across Stanford.
