The Office of Health Equity and Inclusion at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a proven Program Director to join its innovative team to implement its Mission and Vision Reporting to the Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer (CEIO), The Program Director will: - Strategize with the CEIO in the creation, implementation and management of multidisciplinary task forces comprised of senior executives, clinical and administrative leaders on enterprise equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) project initiatives
- Serve as a strategic partner and maintaining frequent communication with the CEIO to report status updates and progress on all programs
- Strategic planning & benchmarking for EDI
- Assess the organization's EDI current programs/initiatives, help stakeholders align their EDI initiatives, as well as identify and recommend strategic and programmatic improvements to advance the BCH Declaration on EDI
- Direct, manage, and implement culturally effective healthcare and diversity programs with associated metrics enterprise-wide, including inclusive learning
- Use methodologies and best practices specific to EDI to lead initiatives that support the enterprise's overall EDI objectives at the department and division levels, coordinating, managing, updating and regularly convening meetings of department and division EDI liaisons to Office of Health Equity and Inclusion
- Partner with the CEIO at national and regional collaborative
- Work with the CEIO in EDI collaboration with HR, Health Affairs, Office of Faculty Development, Dept. of Medical Education, Office of Graduate Medical Education, BCH Academy, Office of Fellowship Training, International Office, Public Affairs, Marketing, the Trust, Nursing and Patient Care Ops, Program for Patient Safety and Quality, Culture and Experience Offices and other key stakeholders to promote the hospital's commitment to provide culturally effective pediatric health care to diverse patients and their families from the US and abroad
- Responsible for programmatic budget proposals, recommendations, and establishing program budget control system for controlling expenditures; controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations; recommending equipment and resources for programs
- As needed by the CEIO, representing BCH at Harvard Medical School EDI initiatives
- Develop and manage program/project scope and timelines through formal change management processes. Manage program/project issues and risks through standard issue/risk process
- Perform need assessments that evaluate and analyze all EDI programs with metrics; implement appropriate procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy to fulfill the Office of Health Equity and Inclusion's and hospital's mission
- Create, manage and oversee the development of internal systems, workshops, seminars and related materials
- Present and interact with professionalism and accountability to large interdisciplinary audiences and stakeholders
- Develop and sustain a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, trust, consensus building and open communication in alignment with high reliability principles
- After consultation with CEIO, providing technical advice, policy interpretation, and guidance for alignment of EDI processes and procedures enterprise wide
To qualify you must have: - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Min. of 8 yrs experience with 5 yrs managing large, multidisciplinary/multi-departmental, complex programs preferred
- Experience in creating, implementing, and managing EDI programs preferred.
- Strong and proven program administration and organizational skills
- Innovative and influential experience in an organization or large groups
