Job Description:

The Department of Sociology in the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall 2021. We are seeking a scholar of race with preference given to applicants who specialize in African American/Black American/Black immigrant experiences and issues, and have an active research program that uses field-based qualitative research methods. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in qualitative research methods, with an emphasis on interviewing and ethnography, in addition to substantive courses on race and related topics.
