The Director, Market Access, Partnership Development is responsible for identifying, securing, and optimizing collaborative and innovative partnerships with third party companies who contract directly with payers and employers to assist in management of their surgical and pain management benefits. The goal of these partnerships is to positively impact access and reimbursement for Pacira products and result in incremental growth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Discover, research, and analyze potential partners nationally on an ongoing basis
Continually work to expand current partnerships to include additional Pacira products, markets, and procedures
Work independently and with VP, Payer & Employer Relations to develop C-Suite level relationships and secure partnership agreements with targeted companies
Develop and execute strategic and project plans including, growth projections, partnership goals, measurement, launch plans, co-promotional opportunities, etc.
Work with Sales, Marketing, and Data Analytics on setting goals and metrics specific to each partnership/collaboration opportunity, and continually update internal teams on data tracking toward goals.
Analyze opportunities to determine the best targeted markets, providers and resources to grow sales
Work collaboratively with regional Market Access team on regional pull through initiatives through partners and their payer/provider networks.
Partner with Pacira Field Sales on education around partner business models, objectives of the partnership, launching marketing materials and messaging.
Work with Marketing on co-promotional activities including marketing collateral, educational materials, and joint attendance at industry meetings.
Identify opportunities to gather data and place pilots.
Continuously maintains a compliant environment.
The incumbent will work closely with internal departments, such as, Payer, Marketing, Sales, National Accounts, Medical Affairs, HOVA and Corporate Communications, and with external constituents such as Commercial Payers, industry convention leaders, and consultants.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health Policy, Finance, Business or other related fields.
Minimum of 10 years related experience in the healthcare industry.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience particularly managing national and regional payer and/or employer corporate relationships.
Experience managing a team and/or working in a matrix management organization structure
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills including presentation skills to groups of all sizes and at executive levels.
Demonstrated ability to partner, communicate, and accomplish goals across organization without direct reporting structure
Demonstrated leadership capabilities- Experience hiring and managing vendors preferred
Proven ability to think strategically and develop new business models and departments from the ground up with limited structure and direction
Proven problem-solving, analytic and negotiation skills
Proven relationships with executive level decision makers from Public and Private Payers, Payer & Employer Associations and Coalitions, and like organizations.
Proven contracting experience a plus
Demonstrated understanding of Commercial payment and delivery models and trends
Ability to travel 50% plus
Valid driver’s license in the state in which you reside
Will travel approximately 50+% on domestic flights and other modes of transportation in order to meet with customers, potential customers/partners and other constituents across the United States. Ability to safely navigate and work in office environments.
