Posting Summary: Plans, organizes, and directs the creation of various media productions used for teaching, training, and media marketing for the Department of Communications utilizing various student media outlets *Oversees the day-to-day operation of the center, which includes scheduling student workers, maintaining facilities, conducting meetings with faculty advisors, meeting with staff and administrators, and providing appropriate updates *Coordinates with faculty media advisors as well as student managers in the center *Works with faculty and students in the department and across the University in the production of traditional and new media using existing and future media outlets *Partners with faculty media advisors and students supervising the curriculum-based student-training program that recruits and trains students for media outlet work *Ensures that the center complies with the department and college standards, policies, procedures and program accreditation standards *Develops operating budget for media production activities; develops record-keeping and inventory system for media production items and equipment tracking expenditures *Recommends the purchasing of all equipment and software for the center, as well as its outlets *Schedules and manages center studios, classrooms, production facilities, meeting rooms, security, maintenance and upkeep of the facilities *Maintains current knowledge of instructional methods and technologies pertinent to assigned programs, learns and applies emerging technologies and advances as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized and timely manner *Maintains all technology and software in all labs, classrooms, and studios *Maintains all media contracts, ensuring that the agreements comply with the guidelines of the University, federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the FCCM *Monitors and updates department's website and social media sites on a regular basis *Submits annual reports to the Chair outlining the activities and achievements of the center, and identifies growth, as well as challenges *Work schedule may fluctuate based on media activity *Performs other related duties as assigned
