In this 4 day a week (part time role), you will act an important part of the global Corporate Communications team and will deliver communications strategy and advice to the business on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
This role will specifically work with the firm's investment and institutional distribution and marketing teams, leading the development and implementation of media campaigns that raise Columbia Threadneedle's profile as a credible manager of pension and insurance assets and helping to deliver the firm's institutional and overall business objectives. It will be responsible for creating interesting content to maintain communications momentum beyond company news and position Columbia Threadneedle as a thought leader.
The role will work closely with the broader Corporate Communications team to develop strategic communications initiatives for various business areas and channels, conceptualize and implement media events and manage day to day proactive and reactive PR activity.
How you'll spend your time....
Drive visibility and profile for the UK institutional and insurance businesses through delivering PR strategy and support for key sales strategies, funds and portfolio managers
Work closely with marketing colleagues on communications strategy for the EMEA institutional business by developing interesting content and other promotional materials. Identify interesting and timely news hooks/stories clients and deliver major institutional thought leadership projects for the media and clients
Develop and execute communications strategy for strategic growth areas (eg Responsible Investment; Infrastructure; Solutions)
Provide strategic communications advice to senior management (including CEO) and identify key profiling opportunities
Protect Columbia Threadneedle's reputation by preparing reactive communications advice and materials in times of crisis, transformation or business change, both for media and clients. Liaise with the media on sensitive topics as required
Together with the broader Corporate Communications team deliver a well-functioning press office function and positive experience for media and internal stakeholders. Deliver joined-up, forward-thinking and high-quality media campaigns and coverage across the national, wholesale and institutional media
To be successful in this role you will have....
Meaningful PR and communications experience in financial services or related industries with a focus on institutional
Proven track record in conceptualising and delivering strategic communications initiatives and campaigns (corporate, thought leadership and product)
Experienced in reactive and crisis/change communications
Strong relationships with UK financial services media, with a focus on the UK institutional media
Ability to operate at a senior level, with experience in providing communications counsel and advice to management
A self-starter with outstanding communication skills and ability to translate complex information into comprehensible messages
A team player willing to get involved in all aspects of the business
