Major Duties: General summary: Oversees communication and media relations for University Athletic teams. Leads and executes market and publicity efforts to increase brand awareness, fan loyalty, and revenues. - Leads, directs and manages traditional sports information and media relations duties for the division. Coordinates day-to-day sports information and game day press box/press row needs associated with athletic events. Develops, edits, produces and distribution of media guides, press releases and game programs for assigned sports.- Updates and upgrades website and other athletic affiliated webpages and social media elements. Ensures consistency of brand messaging elements. Maintains archival files of team and student-athlete statistics, data, biographical information and photos for use in operations and historical purposes.- Creates graphics with graphic editing software to create promotional materials. Stays up-to-date on current design trends and principles.- Assists promotions and video staff to plan, create and execute promotional activities, in-game elements, video board operations, and game environment experience. Serves as an onsite manager of in-game event staff for designated games. Assists in ensuring public address, video, and in-game entertainment script fulfills obligations and encourages fan interaction.- Engages stakeholders to identify and prioritize marketing initiatives. Determines budget allocations. Develops and implements elements of initiatives.- Supervises, trains, and evaluates staff.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.- Three years' required experience.- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and graphic design skills.- Excellent organizational skills.- Ability to prioritize multiple, competing deadlines.- Ability to utilize multiple computer platforms and creative and office software programs.- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
