Provides leadership and direction within the assigned market in accordance with the bank’s mission, vision, and values. Represents the bank in the community and manages all commercial lending activities. Serves as the lead business development manager in the assigned branch. Coordinates with branch personnel to meet and/or exceed market goals. Represents the bank with professionalism both on the job and in the community, promoting business for the bank by maintaining good customer relations and promotes the bank’s deposit and loan growth strategies.
Major Duties, Responsibilities, Activities:
Provides community leadership for the bank in assigned market area, promoting the bank and its’ vision statement in the community. Actively participates in the community by attending and supporting charitable and public relations events. Develops and recommends improvements to existing financial institution marketing programs for the assigned market.
Implements business development programs to attract new commercial and retail customers in the business community. Directs and implements business development activities, such as customer calls on prospects. Partners effectively with branch staff to maximize the total customer relationship.
Responsible for oversight of commercial loan activities in the assigned market area including but not limited to closing loans, analyzing new loan applications and renewing existing loans. Works closely with Credit Administration to ensure that the loan falls within the risk parameters of the bank. Works with the Credit Administration Department and Senior Management to meet expectations for past dues, problem loans, risk ratings, loan review, special assets, and CARs.
Manages personal loan portfolio including but not limited to monitoring credit, past due accounts, updating financial statements and customer service. Manages large or complex commercial loans, as needed, and counsels loan customers on loan management and beneficial financial strategies.
Complies with all state and federal banking laws, policies and procedures regarding BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act.
Responsible for overall commercial and retail service standards to all assigned market area customers and prospective customers.
Serves as primary business development officer for assigned market. Responsible for development of sales and customer base for market area.
Provides regular reports to senior management on new and suggested improvements to lending strategies, goals, activities and related information.
Carries out assigned supervisory responsibilities in accordance with bank policies and applicable laws.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements/Qualifications:
High School Diploma. College graduate with bachelor’s degree in finance related field preferred.
2 plus years progressive experience in a banking branch environment or sales including experience in commercial and retail lending or credit administration.
Thorough working knowledge of bank software applications and excellent PC, word processing and spreadsheet skills.
Superior organizational skills.
Excellent leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to executive management, public or community groups, and/or board of directors.
Thorough understanding of bank services, products, policies and procedures; and overall business objectives.
