Clyde Group is seeking a media relations professional to join our growing communications agency as a Media Relations Specialist. We’re looking for a self-starter who has established relationships with journalists and can develop new relationships on behalf of clients, turn complex subjects into concise and captivating pitches, and work across every medium.
This position will be a part of the media relations team—reporting to the Senior Director of Media Relations—and work on accounts in the areas of government and business & finance, as well as supporting the firm’s visibility efforts, including executive thought leadership.
The Media Relations Specialist will support media list development/management; research, development and writing compelling pitches, press releases, and media materials; building and enhancing working relationships with the press; and monitoring and advising on PR issues within the competitive media landscape to adjust positioning and outreach as necessary. The primary responsibility for this position is to cultivate, manage, and maximize media opportunities for client accounts.
To apply you should have:
Minimum of two to four years of media relations experience with increasing responsibility at a PR agency, non-profit organization or industry environment.
Working knowledge of corporate communications, media relations and/or public relations within a government and/or business/finance industry.
Existing media relationships that you can call on to place client stories.
Strong organization and time management skills to prioritize and manage a high volume of detailed work with various priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and personal initiative to facilitate routine and accelerated work requests.
A positive, professional “team player” attitude that works well under pressure and a flexible, responsible, accountable can-do mindset.
Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
