Media Coordinator

As a member of the Office of Marketing and Communications, the media coordinator will help develop the Hood’s brand by highlighting its success stories and achievements, through earned and social media. This staff member, reporting to the vice president for marketing and communications, will identify stories and pitch them to traditional and non-traditional media outlets, handle media inquiries, write press releases and develop stories for hood.edu. Additionally, the media coordinator will be responsible for the College’s social media presence in accordance with the overall strategic communication plan, division goals and objectives, and the engagement of multiple target audiences. Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, English or a related field required and two to three years’ experience in marketing and communication, preferably in higher education or a nonprofit setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
