The Department of Communication Studies at Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in January 2021. This position reports directly to the Chair of Communication Studies.
We seek an individual dedicated to teaching (4/4 load) a variety of Public Relations and Strategic Communication classes primarily at the undergraduate level, with a desire to share expertise or develop expertise working with student populations residing in correctional institutions. The majority of the teaching will be online and on campus teaching also will be expected.
A completed PhD in Communication Studies or closely related field (such as Speech Communication or Public Relations) is required.
Successful experience teaching in both face to face and distance education formats is required.
Professional experience as well as an applied research program fitting the department mission and curriculum is required.
Service to the department and university is expected and may include curricular planning and revision, mentoring adjunct faculty, advising students and student organizations, and other committee opportunities.
