This position will work on a fiscal team responsible for the management of all financial transactions at the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs.
This position will manage fiscal responsibilities, which include monitoring budgets through FMS, account analysis, account reconciliations, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, accounting corrections and transfers for Operating, grants, Foundation, and other accounts. Collaborate with Principal Investigators and Granting Agencies on managing the fiscal responsibility of each grant, in addition to preparing Grant financial reports for cost share requirements to be submitted to Grants & Contracts Accounting Office & External Funding Agencies. Establish, maintain, and approve accounting transactions using the University's financial management systems as well as GVS internal accounting systems. Process Concur and BobcatBuy transactions for GVS staff ensuring expenditures are appropriately charged to correct accounts dependent upon grant restrictions and authorized expenditures. Must be able to interpret financial information in award documents. Involves decision-making ability and critical analysis to accurately determine if specific expenditures are allowable under External contracts and Foundation accounting policies.
Duties include: Collaborate with Principal Investigators and Granting Agencies on managing the fiscal responsibility of each grant. Preparing Grant financial reports for cost share account requirements. Analyze, verify, and approve financial reports from Grants office before submittal to External Funding Agency. Monitoring budgets through FMS, account analysis, account reconciliations, and expenditure tracking for Operating, grants, Foundation, Designated Income, and appropriation accounts. . Ensures that University policy, sponsor guidelines and accounting standards are met. Establish and approve accounting entries, payroll corrections, and Billing Authorizations. Process and/or review Concur reports and BobcatBuy transactions to ensure expenditures are appropriately charged to correct accounts. Create BobcatBuy orders for staff including Create Concur travel reports, expense reports, and other reimbursements for Faculty, Staff, and students. Assists customers with highly complex questions, paperwork, and requirements as they relate to financial and business activities. Supervise Accounting Assistant students.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, business, accounting, or any bachelor's degree plus at least three (3) years of grant fiscal management experience., Reliable access to high speed Internet access at residence is also required.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Finance, business, accounting.
