Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Public Affairs, the Website Coordinator works to raise the awareness of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ). The Website Coordinator will maintain and update content on USJ's main Web site, www.usj.edu. The content coordinator also works directly with trained users and stakeholders around the university to perform regular and on-demand updates to site content. Duties include:
Create site design modification or content architecture changes.
Being on-call for emergency communications and the release of statements during scheduled rotations.
In addition to usj.edu duties, the Website Coordinator works with USJ staff on two smaller websites at the University (School for Young Children and Gengras Center).
Other Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
Solicit and maintain content for the University's external website.
Ensure that all content meets USJ brand and style standards.
Ensure that content is appropriate to external audiences i.e. prospective students and families, prospective employees, alumni, donors and others interested in the University.
Convert submitted content to web documents; using content management system, upload to website.
Advise various constituencies of the University community in the design and authoring of web content; populate the site with clear, concise, accurate text.
Procure images to populate site; edit and upload to server; work with University's graphic designers when needed.
Edit and upload document files to server.
Oversee department web editors to ensure department pages are up-to-date. Create training materials for USJ editors to use when updating usj.edu website.
Post emergency and weather-related messaging to website as needed.
Stay abreast of new content management features and tools.
Work on redesign efforts on bi-annual or tri-annual basis.
Coordinate with website agency as needed to quickly and effectively solve larger website issues.
Ensure website meets all governmental standards for Title IX, accessibility, and other regulations.
Identify and edit graphics to enhance event entries.
Keep abreast of updates to application.
Liaison with University calendar committee and Office of Event Planning and Management.
Select news stories and images/videos for top of landing page of website
Work with departments using third-party websites to ensure USJ branding is correct and appropriate on those sites.
Troubleshoot and resolve website problems working with external agencies and University's Information Technology staff.
B.S. or B.A. required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience creating and managing WordPress websites strongly preferred
Working knowledge of HTML
Must be experienced in the application of Web tools (to include HTML and CSS) and techniques and their applications for large scale, high traffic sites.
Experience with Photoshop required.
Good sense of graphic design and multimedia especially as it relates to web design.
Familiarity with web authoring tools and educational marketing a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment
Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work in a Windows and MAC environment. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet, and other programs as needed (e.g., mail merge, data base management). Familiarity with specific applications used by the University/Department a plus.
Available and responsive to time-sensitive requests. On call for occasional off-hours updates to site. Ability to interact effectively as a member of a very small team and participate actively in ongoing initiatives and projects.
Highly developed customer relations and customer service skills essential. Experience responding sensitively and diplomatically to confidential client needs required. Experience working with clients with widely varying levels of technical ability is required.

Professional, courteous demeanor and appearance; ability to engage positively and work professionally with students, faculty, staff and administration and represent the University professionally to the public
