At NYU LA the Career Development Counselor supports NYU LA students, as well as NYU Go Local students, with their career and professional development. This support includes providing guidance in finding internship positions for Study Away students relevant to their academic and professional goals in the LA area, helping students connect with potential industry mentors in the LA area and providing resume and interviewing resources. In conjunction with the Program Director, the Career Development Counselor also offers support to the interns throughout their semester in LA so they can have the best internship experience possible.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: 2+ years relevant experience in career services, counseling, student personnel, human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Career planning, assessment, and job search expertise. Excellent communication, presentation, writing and organizational skills. Ability to deal with a diverse population at all levels
