The Vice President for Engagement plays a key role in enhancing NALPF’s visibility and reputation, as well as strengthening NALPF’s financial position. Working closely with the President and CEO, the VP spearheads the Foundation’s engagement with key cohorts including law firms, law schools, corporations, individual donors, and research and partner organizations, and ensures that NALPF’s fundraising and membership efforts meet or exceed annual goals.
Plans and implements strategies to develop support for and engagement with the Foundation. Develops and maintains appropriate systems to track engagement, including but not limited to donor management, research and cultivation, gift processing, and recognition. Maintains accountability and compliance standards for donors and funding sources. Collaborates with the President & CEO and board in charting the organization’s course in development. Manages Foundation’s law school and law firm campaigns. Generates new engagement vehicles.
Develops and deploys an integrated strategic communications plan to broaden awareness about the NALP Foundation and its work, and to increase the Foundation’s visibility across key stakeholder audiences, including law firms, law schools, corporations and businesses, and research and funding organizations.
Oversees NALPF’s internal and external communications strategy, including public relations, media relations, social media, online communications, stakeholder communications, as well as website design and management.
Represents the Foundation at professional events and conferences, speaking engagements and other functions, and in the media.
Deep familiarity with legal profession, as demonstrated through at least 5 years prior or current experience at a law school or legal employer.
Experience in nonprofit fundraising/development, and strong track record of achieving/exceeding development targets.
Experience with traditional and social media, as well as marketing and communications strategies and implementation.
Exceptional written, interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of best practices for fundraising and membership recruitment/retention; ability to translate data/metrics into strategy and tactics.
Strong financial management background and skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and to operate independently.
Commitment to NALPF’s mission and strategic objectives.
Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.
JD, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred.
Position Location: Remote.
Position Hours: 25-35 hours per week, requires some travel.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
