Job Type: Staff Job Description: The Assistant Director of Admissions assists in the attainment of student recruitment goals and increasing overall diversity for KCU. This position develops and manages the recruitment and admission processes for graduate programs including the establishment of student recruitment strategies and goals; develops and manages the customer relationship management system (CRM) for all degree programs; maintain informative communications with internal and external constituents; assists with the development and administration of overall Admissions protocols, communications, and technological media; and promotes the University as a nurturing, student-focused environment. This position reports to the Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops, manages and implements recruitment strategy for all KCU graduate programs, including the PsyD and Master of BioSciences programs
Develops and manages the customer relationship management system (CRM) for all degree programs
Ensures an integrated admittance process for graduate programs for initial contact with students through confirmation/notification
Responsible for development and production of quality graduate recruitment materials
Maintains accurate, informative, and timely communications with internal and external constituents and students
Assists with the development and administration of overall Admissions protocols and communications
Cultivates relationships with prospective students
Represents department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the University
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Education, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. Three years of Admissions and/or Student Affairs experience in a health professional/academic institution of higher learning with involvement in recruiting an underrepresented population. Master's degree preferred
Two years of supervisory experience preferred
Experience using or managing a Customer Relationship Management system.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in recruitment of students and marketing
Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong working knowledge and proficiency in working with databases, report generators, word processing, electronic mail and spreadsheets. Proficient in Microsoft Office essential. Familiarity with Workday, a plus
Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently
Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities and departmental demands essential
Excellent follow-through skills required
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, balance multiple projects in stressful situations and with frequent interruption, yet, able to perform assignments accurately, attain deadlines and maintain positive relations
Must be diplomatic at all times and able to exercise good judgement, while maintaining discretion
Must maintain an on-going, insurable driving record
Willing and available to travel to Joplin campus several times each semester
Willing and able to travel 4-5 weeks per year for student recruitment, with heaviest concentration of travel occurring in the fall and spring.
