GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Dean of Business and Information Technology reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and is responsible for a number of academic programs areas. The Dean leads a department that includes an Associate Dean, 25-30 full-time faculty members and support staff, and approximately 20 adjunct faculty. The Dean promotes communication, community, and collaboration within the department, advocates for faculty and department goals, and facilitates communication between the administration, faculty and staff.

Direct the preparation of the annual budget for department and supervise its implementation.
Recommend staff for appointment, assignment, and other personnel actions.
Supervise and evaluate the faculty and staff, coordinate departmental staff development programs and activities, and provide for the orientation of new employees, communicate administrative policies and actions to the faculty.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of all reports and studies that are required from the department.
Assist in providing for proper facilities, equipment and materials to meet the needs of the instructional programs.
Maintain contacts with area high schools and colleges, appropriate businesses, agencies, and community organizations and individuals in the College's service area.
Coordinate the evaluation and revision of current courses and programs within the department.
Cooperate with other departments and divisions of the College in student recruitment, guidance, placement and follow-up, informing the public of the College's programs and services.
Make faculty assignments.
Resolve student concerns and requests (e.g. conflicts, exemptions, waivers, recommendations, and transfer articulation questions).
Be able and willing to represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.
Must be a self-motivated, energetic, and creative individual with proven leadership, planning and administrative skills.
Possess excellent conceptual and planning skills and be able to relate well with other professional educators within the college and at other institutions.
Possess a working knowledge of educational trends in the field that enable leading the department to meet the merging educational needs.
Possess strong human relations skills. Get along with diverse personalities.
Express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written form.
Establish and maintain good team working relationships with students, colleagues, staff, administrators, and general public.

Three years of experience in an education setting.
Degree in a business or technology field.
