The Senior Communications Specialist shall be responsible for:
Supporting Boston Children's strategic priorities and change management plans, which will include implementing marketing strategies and tactics targeted at key constituencies (patients, families, referring providers, as well as administrative, clinical, operations staff internal and external to BCH, etc.).
Working in collaboration with stakeholders, , the Specialist will oversee the development and execution of events, direct mail, advertising, collateral material, relationship initiatives, multi-media, web and e-communications to promote transparency and awareness of key strategic initiatives as a part of a greater cultural transformation.
Determining and managing project workflow from concept to completion and delivering on time and on budget.
Ensuring the Integrity of projects including accuracy of information, parental consents, adherence to legal specifications, graphic standards and hospital brand, proper licensing, trademarking, and production quality.
Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications Department and internal clients to define, strategize, organize, supervise and execute projects that are aligned with hospital strategy.
Acting as liaison to and manages external vendors which may include advertising agencies, media agencies, PR agencies, list vendors, printers and consultants.
Targeting & analysis, working with database team to refine targeting, create referring mailing lists and measure response rates. Regularly audits results and effectiveness of marketing communications efforts.
In order to qualify you must have:
Knowledge of marketing theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field.
Ability to effectively manage multiple marketing communications projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communications skills--verbal and written--and possess the ability/agility to working with individuals at various levels.
A minimum of one year of professional communications experience is required. Additionally five years' professional communications experience is strongly preferred to support the complex change management initiatives at BCH.
Ability to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and be able to mediate fair and workable solutions.
Previous experience in healthcare is also preferred, but not required.
