WVU Works Program Manager - Center for Career Development 14702
The Center for Career Development at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a WVU Works Program Manager. This position is responsible for working in conjunction with the Office of Corporate Relations, Chambers College Center for Career Development, and other units on campus to promote the WVU Works concept to prospective employers and establish pipelines for co-working membership agreements. Additionally, the individual in this position will serve as an on-site liaison between WVU, industry partners, and students who are working in the Encova Center. The WVU Works Program Manager will also create customizable onboarding kits for individual employees or internship cohorts, coordinate WVU Works tours and campus visits to increase awareness of the space, design specialized programming for interns, and serve as the primary contact for urgent matters and/or member-related issues to ensure a cohesive community and positive member experience.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
In conjunction with the Directors of the CCD and Corporate Relations, establish annual membership and revenue goals for the Internship Center.
Market the Internship Center to prospective employers; clearly demonstrate value proposition through a comprehensive outreach strategy.
Support data collection, analytics, and assessment in areas related to internship and career experience participation rates, opportunities, learning development, and outcomes.
Ensure goals are achieved, tracked, and reported out to key stakeholders.
Develop relationships with employers from a cross-section of industries; identify current and future talent needs, location and/or expansion goals, and long-term objectives in order to determine feasibility of a co-working membership agreement.
Identify barriers to internship and career experience participation and develop solutions to increase student access and engagement.
Represent the Internship Center at high-profile events, committee meetings and work-groups. Attend pertinent conferences and professional development meetings.
Curate an exceptional guest experience for employer partners and student interns located within the Center.
Develop onboarding kits that organizations can customize and utilize for individual employees or internship cohorts.
Create specialized programming for student interns in order to provide them with additional professional development opportunities and industry-relevant content.
Serve as an adjunct instructor for various business courses as needed.
Serve as a liaison between employers, students, and University support functions (e.g. IT, Facilities, Events, and Central Career Services).
Coordinate Internship Center tours and other campus visits to increase overall awareness of the space and develop stronger employer partnerships.
Work in conjunction with Chambers College Events Team to manage scheduled events, space availability, catering expectations, etc.
Foster a creative, productive, professional, and collaborative work environment for employers and interns.
Support student talent development; provide positive and constructive feedback and coaching.
Communicate policies and procedures to members, including membership agreements and applicable space guidelines.
Communicate with WVU's legal department, real estate group, facilities unit, and others on campus in regards to membership agreements.
Serve as the onsite point-of-contact to solve any member-related issues to ensure a cohesive community and positive member experience.
Make recommendations to CCD, Facilities, IT, etc. for any necessary repairs, maintenance, updates, etc.
Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Human Resources, Marketing or a related discipline preferred.
Master's degree preferred.
Two (2) years of experience in recruiting, human resources, corporate relations, career services, university relations, marketing, or a related area required.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience with large group presentations.
High level, superior customer service experience including the ability to independently solve complex and time sensitive problems.
Valid driver's license required.
Travel required up to 25% including overnight.
