The UM System Office of e-Learning has an ambitious goal to enroll 25,000 additional students using e-learning platforms by 2025. Collectively with colleagues form all four Universities, the Office of e-Learning serves as a strategic and trusted advisor to enhance educational experiences, advance technological services, and increasing efficiencies while pursuing continuous collaboration between the four Universities.
We are seeking a creative and skilled visual storyteller to develop top-notch production of promotional, educational, and recruiting content all the way from concept to completion. This new role will initially focus on the creation of video ads utilizing preexisting interview material and will be integral to develop video ad templates. Depending on needs of the institution, experience, and interest the future Senior Media Producer will over time manage their own projects from researching and planning to collaborating with diverse constituents, scriptwriting, interviewing, shooting footage to editing and creating graphics. Housed in the Marketing and Communications Office within the UM System Office of eLearning this position will report to the Strategic Communications Consultant and Videographer function. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic content consumer with a mind for marketing who is capable of understanding how to reach target demographics while considering the latest digital trends. Content will appear across various web and social platforms.
Developing engaging promotional video material with an emphasis on storytelling, with the purpose of reaching target demographics while maintaining brand consistency
Performing full production of creative assets for recruitment marketing materials for online programs such as pre-roll video ads, animated program announcement videos, animated elements for social media posts, and web features as well as student and faculty testimonial videos
Designing on-screen graphics and texting over video for video ads and program overview videos
Serving as part of the media team as a videographer, photographer, and post-production specialist on all types of media projects
Collaborating with colleagues on the team, as well as subject matter experts
Managing a video library with tagging and labeling
Tracking progress on projects via project management tools
Maintaining awareness of competitor video strategies, and stay informed on visual content production and delivery trends
Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Three years of experience in videography including post-production, video animation objects, and motion graphics
Robust knowledge of video and sound editing software (Adobe Premiere)
Experience operating DSLR and video cameras, sound recording equipment, and lighting equipment
Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, video production, communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design, or a related field
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ideally interview experience
Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
Capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously while producing high quality work
Ability to follow creative direction and work under deadlines
Must demonstrate customer service, integrity, and a strong commitment to inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity in their activities
Ability to travel between multiple buildings and/or universities as well as statewide to guarantee excellent services
Salary begins at $16.92/hours and commensurate with education and experience.
