The University of Michigan Center for Academic Innovation seeks a talented Market Research Analyst to manage and facilitate market research efforts across the center’s portfolio of online learning experiences. You will architect the design and collection of data on learners, competitors, and demand for initiatives across the portfolio. You will integrate your understanding of business objectives, survey design, and the foundations of statistical analysis into your daily work. You will be a key liaison between the Academic Innovation teams leading educational research, online and hybrid degree programs, open learning experiences, and marketing and communications to support collaborative and cross-functional information-sharing and decision-making.
This role will report to the Associate Director of Research & Development. The Market Research Analyst will help the Center and our partners better understand new opportunities and make more informed decisions around new online degree offerings, hybrid programs, and Massive Open Online Course series by developing thoughtful research questions, conducting discovery research, synthesizing insights, evaluating markets and opportunities, providing recommendations, and producing actionable items, reports, and presentations. You will work with domain leads to ensure appropriate project prioritization. You will be expected to produce methodologically-sound findings, and actionable insight to create an ever-better portfolio of learning experiences and technologies.
You should have proven market research analysis experience, the ability to interpret large amounts of data, and strong skills in survey design methodologies. You bring a flexible and iterative approach to research and are able to determine and execute appropriate research methods for the question at hand. You will collaborate with cross-functional team members to define and prioritize research tasks and to design effective processes, presentations, and evaluations. You are adept at explaining the implications and limitations of a variety of primary and secondary data sources. You are skilled at asking exploratory and probing questions to determine the most critical knowledge about a potential initiative. Your research will generate insights that will help us identify initiatives to move forward and add value to the Center and the University broadly. Most importantly, you have an appetite for creative, collaborative problem solving with a positive attitude.
