POSITION TITLE: Web Content Specialist (Staff Associate)
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications

STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Web Content Specialist is responsible for generating quality content that will attract and inform visitors to BristolCC.edu. With experience balancing web content strategy with the college's marketing strategy, the Web Content Specialist works with college stakeholders to develop short- and long-term strategies for the website, including the development of content and ongoing monitoring of the website's traffic and search engine rankings. This individual also takes ownership of communicating college guidelines, policies, and procedures regarding web use and design. This is a results-oriented and self-motivated individual with inbound marketing experience, including website integration and use of other social media and digital outlets to complement the website. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead website content development and maintenance, including writing original content that is informative, accurate, and compelling to target audiences; consult with subject matter experts to ensure content is clear, concise, relevant, and current.
Manage the content management system, including maintaining organized taxonomies through the creation, publication, and archiving life cycle.
Verify/test content, paying close attention to detail.
Manage access to website content management system (CMS); train and support internal users. Maintain the integrity of the website, including troubleshooting technical issues and overseeing integration with external and internal databases.
Ensure website meets web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
Create a system to continuously review content, including, but not limited to, developing and implementing consistent review schedules and assigning responsibilities across the college.
Use a data-driven approach to identify areas of improvement based on current visitor behavior, performance metrics, and qualitative and quantitative customer data.
Monitor industry trends and upcoming technology, channels, and online marketing strategies for new opportunities for the college. Make investment suggestions in web applications such as widgets, plug-ins, and new media.
Monitor, analyze, and report on digital KPIs and best practices; work in conjunction with Director of Marketing to perform analysis of campaign performance/results.
Interface with the Marketing & Communications team to strategize cross-functional opportunities in advertising, social media, web/digital content, and public relations plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an Associate degree in marketing, English, communications, computer science, or related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in web/digital management experience with demonstrated success optimizing content.
Demonstrated proficiency with website content management tools, such as HubSpot or WordPress; preferably Terminal Four.
Intermediate experience with HTML and CSS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including proofreading and an eye for layout.
Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated experience in SEO and assessing Google Analytics, A/B testing software, or other tools to measure and manage site engagement.
Demonstrated understanding of audio and video streaming, editing, and online media delivery technologies.
Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, proven ability to form strong cross-functional relationships, and ability to manage differing points of views across broad sets of stakeholders.
Energetic, passionate and articulate communicator who can convey information to a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in in marketing, English, communications, computer science, or related field.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in higher education in the area of website management, marketing, or a related field.
Robust understanding and demonstrated inclusion of access, equity, and student success practices.
Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
Demonstrated expertise with digital KPIs and best practices, as well as superior analytic skills and an ROI mindset.
Knowledge in the integration of social media tools and platforms to web sites and applications.
Knowledge in the usage and integration of relational databases (e.g. MS-SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) with web-based applications.
Demonstrated understanding of tagging/tag utm codes, metadata, etc. and familiarity with SEO content tools.
Ability to speak a language in addition to English.

POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, non-unit position with benefits.
SALARY: Hiring salary $50,000- $55,000, commensurate with education and experience.
