The Public Relations and Digital Media Specialist collaborates with members of the LFA Communications Office to promote the marketing and branding initiatives of Lake Forest Academy. The PR and Digital Media Specialist should have a strong understanding of digital media structures and demonstrated expertise in writing and public relations. This is a full-time salaried/exempt position and reports to the Dean of Communications.
Write press releases and disseminate articles about LFA to proper channels.
Contact and produce new relationships with media to pitch stories about LFA.
Help execute social media strategy by researching and responding to audience preferences.
Assist in creation and sharing of visual content (images and video) across all of LFA’s social media platforms to engage with different audiences.
Contribute to website blog and edit text content on website.
Take collateral photos and videos at school events.
Archive external publications about LFA.
Contributes to copy writing and editing efforts to ensure consistent messaging and professionalism.
Assist in the translation of LFA messages.
Carry out additional duties based on the needs of different communication projects.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or marketing from an accredited university.
At least 2+ year(s) internship or professional experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products required.
Proficiency with AP Style.
Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.
Strong writing, editing, speaking, technical, organizational, interpersonal, and creative skills.
