Department Description The department of Health Sciences Development & Alumni Relations (HSDA) is responsible for securing private philanthropic support for UC Davis Health's research, teaching, clinical, and service missions. The department advises and supports UC Davis Health's leadership, faculty, staff, prospects, and donors on all aspect of philanthropy. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesUnder the general direction of the Executive Director of Development (EDOD) School of Medicine, the Fundraiser 4 designs, develops, implements, and administers fundraising programs. Additionally, the Fundraiser 4 identifies new donor prospects through research of background information. Required Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of a!! aspects of fundraising, donor relations and public relations. To acquire knowledge of all aspects of the health system, including relevant issues for both the health system and higher education.
To acquire knowledge of the health system including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, institutional policies, etc. Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including po!itica! acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies.
Advanced skill in making persuasive and compelling presentations of campus goals/objectives and securing gifts.
Advanced skill to meet predetermined goals and objectives through effective program/project planning, organization, execution and evaluation.
Advanced analytical, critical thinking, problem recognition, avoidance, and resolution skills.
Skill to meet or exceed fundraising goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will have: Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 3-5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in development and fundraising programs, preferably in the field of health sciences and/or higher education.
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Travel is required.
