Enrollment Services Manager (Assistant or Associate Director of Admissions)
The Office of Admissions at Penn State Law in University Park is seeking an Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions (Enrollment Services Manager 1 or 2) to complete our team of dedicated and enthusiastic admissions professionals. Level will be commensurate with experience. The Assistant/Associate Director will be responsible for: reviewing applications; making recommendations for admission and scholarship; representing the law school at recruitment events; conducting data analysis to determine recruitment schedule; hosting online information sessions; conducting outreach to and advising prospective and admitted students; coordinating and participating in panels and information sessions with student organizations and other audiences; and developing relationships with student group leaders, advisors, and faculty to promote Penn State Law. Weekly national travel will be required during fall recruitment season, September-November, with additional travel throughout the year. Recruitment travel often entails walking long distances, carrying or lifting boxes weighing more than 10 pounds, and long periods of tabling. Air and automobile travel and a valid U.S. driver's license are required. The successful candidate will also manage communications to prospective and admitted students. Working with the Assistant Dean for Admissions and the Penn State Law communications team, the Assistant/Associate Director will develop content, contribute to strategy, and manage timing of a variety of messages through various channels. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Master's degree or J.D. preferred. Experience with CRM or email management systems is preferred. Experience in public relations, advertising, journalism, or other communications-focus roles is desired. Demonstrated track record with relationship building or recruitment is a plus. Two years of admissions and recruitment experience at the post-secondary, graduate, or professional school level is required. Applicants should demonstrate an incredibly positive, can-do attitude, strong writing ability, high-level organization skills, and excellent presentation technique. The Assistant/Associate Director must be a great relationship-builder with top-notch conversation and listening skills. Keen attention to detail, thorough follow up skills, and a team-focused attitude are necessary. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
