The Associate Director of Alumni Relations plays an important role inÂ the daily operations for the Advancement Office at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering managing varied fundraising, planning, data collection, and administrativeÂ responsibilities. Â This position supports the Executive Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations with duties related to the engagement, cultivation, and stewardship of alumni in the Bay Area region of Northern California. We areÂ seeking an individual who is pursuing a career in advancement and will leverage this opportunity as a unique partnership between alumni relations management, corporate relations, and frontline fundraising. This position is a two-year fixed term. The ideal candidate would be located in the Bay Area, or will have a strong knowledge of the region. Expected travel to Los Angeles would be approximately once a month, depending on workload and other events.
Compile a complete database of all living USC Viterbi alumni, students, parents, and other constituencies (non-alumni donors) in the Bay Area. Create lists, groups, and other ways to ensure upbeat communication and the development of community.
Create appropriate invitation lists and supporting several events in the Bay Area a year: one major event, two lower-level events, and approximately three local events to fulfill corporate relations and/or general alumni engagement strategies.
Liaise and connect between career services at USC and job opportunities in the Bay Area. Work closely with USC Viterbi Admissions and Student Engagement to enhance opportunities for Viterbi students and alumni.
Collaborate with the Major Gifts team as well as the Corporate and Foundation Relations team to develop programming with Bay Area Viterbi Innovation Partners and other highly-rated prospects.
Provide intelligence from the needs of constituencies, and recommend appropriate action to ensure constant competitiveness and enhancement of USC Viterbi branding, including public relations and marketing and communications.
Research and recommend public relations and marketing and communications enhancement opportunities.
Creates informational materials in coordination with Central Advancement to extend communication to all parties in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure compliance with all University policies, including following of all protocols for prospect and donor management.
Represent USC Viterbi at professional meetings and seminars for professional development, as needed.
Assist with other special projects, as needed.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with modern software tools.
