The Marketing and Communications Office at Saint Vincent College seeks applications for a full-time Associate Director for Athletic Communications. The Associate Director of Athletic Communications would be responsible for the promotion, coverage and reporting related to all 24 NCAA programs currently competing at Saint Vincent College. The position will also serve as a liaison between the Athletic Department and Marketing, Admissions and other departments on campus, and support marketing and admission efforts as they relate to recruiting and retaining prospective student-athletes. Essential duties: •Oversee all media and public relations for the Saint Vincent College Department of Athletics and its teams, student-athletes and coaches. •Maintain all statistics and file statistical reports as required by the NCAA and Presidents’ Athletic Conference. •Responsible for the timely and accurate updating and management of the official athletics website. •Manage the official social media accounts of the Saint Vincent College Department of Athletics (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube) and closely monitor and assist with the maintenance of social media accounts of the Department’s varsity teams. •Provide content and assist with design of game programs, recruiting brochures, schedule cards, posters and other official Department publications. •Nominate teams, student-athletes and coaches for weekly and yearly national, regional and conference awards. •Oversee a department that includes a sports information assistant and student work-studies, and manage a budget along with work-study hours. •Serve as a public address announcer. •Perform game manager duties for home games. •Manage press box (football) and press row (basketball). •Maintain collection of photography. •Maintain historical archives and records of the Department and its varsity teams. •Serve as a representative on select committees, including Athletic Hall of Fame selection committee. •Serve as a liaison between athletics and various academic and administrative departments, as well as support admission efforts both on and off-campus. •Support the Department of Marketing and Communications in organization and coverage of major campus events. •Other duties as assigned.
PROFICIENCIES •Expertise in AP style writing. •Expertise in operating in-game statistical software, including Stat Crew/The Automated Scorebook, and Genius LiveStats for baseball/softball, men’s and women’s basketball, football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and men’s and women’s volleyball. •Significant experience in back-end website content management through SIDEARM. •Demonstrated proficiency in desktop publishing and graphic design through the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat. •Demonstrated proficiency in managing various social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. •Competency in video production through Adobe Premiere, iMovie or similar software. •Experience in the set-up, production and post-production of live video and audio web streams. •Knowledge of NCAA Division III and Presidents’ Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing, sports management, broadcasting or a similar field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 3-4 years of experience in collegiate or professional sports information, athletic communications or media relations.
