Position Summary: Reporting to the Dean's Office, the Communications Manager will develop and manage the school's internal and external communications portfolio for diverse audiences, including current students, full and part-faculty, alumni, the YU community, Katz School staff, local government, companies, and industry associations.

Serve as editor for critical academic initiatives including new degree proposals, grant applications, and scholarly publications
Prepare speeches, talking points and presentations for school leaderships major speaking engagements
Develop communication materials in collaboration with senior leadership and program directors to support external partnership development with local government, companies, and industry associations.
Design and implement an efficient content management and approval process for the schools internally generated materials
Serve as the schools primary liaison with universitys office of marketing and communications; manage all related requests, and review materials with a detailed eye
Collaborate with the universitys marketing department to develop an organic social media strategy for the school
Lead weekly brainstorm sessions with program directors to identify/plan, draft/edit content from faculty, staff, students and alumni
Attend school events, lectures, and conferences to conduct interviews, and capture photos for use in variety of social media
Experience & Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in communications, writing, science/tech, or other relevant degree
5+ years of experience in communications or related field; science, technology, or health writing preferred
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent writing, copy editing and presentation skills with precision and critical attention to detail
